Radical Health Festival Helsinki brings courage and collaboration to the health sector

Radical Health Festival Helsinki will bring together Europe’s health innovation ecosystem on January 19–21, 2026. The event challenges established mindsets and renews the health sector with a radical approach.

Radical Health Festival Helsinki responds to global health challenges by encouraging genuine and open European collaboration in the healthcare sector. The event provides an international forum for discussion. It brings together people, data, and innovations at the Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre. Known for its focus on sustainable development in healthcare and radical reflection, the festival aims to accelerate the advancement of healthcare innovations.

This year, the key themes of Radical Health Festival form three tracks: ministerial track, data and AI, and health unbound. The event gathers important stakeholders from both the public and private sectors: experts, healthcare professionals, decision-makers, innovative companies, service providers, investors, and patients.

Helsinki is a major hub for health innovation

Helsinki is now participating in Radical Health Festival for the third time. As the main partner of this high-level health innovation event, the city strengthens its role as a promoter of health innovations and as a significant RDI hub in the field. Other main organizers include the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health, éditohealth, and the Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre.

In the Helsinki region, health innovations are advanced and foreign investments attracted by Health Capital Helsinki. It is a cluster built on the region’s strong science campuses. Alongside the City of Helsinki, partners include HUS, the City of Espoo, the University of Helsinki, Aalto University, Metropolia, and Haaga-Helia. Health Capital Helsinki has actively contributed to organizing the Radical Health Festival.

Radical Health Festival Helsinki 2026 will take place on January 19–21. Minister of Social Security Sanni Grahn-Laasonen will open the event with an inspiring keynote. The City of Helsinki will be present in the exhibition area with its own stand. The City of Helsinki’s program segment, Health Unbound, challenges boundaries in healthcare and explores how health and wellbeing are built beyond medical frameworks.

Innovative solutions to global health challenges

The City of Helsinki’s testbed platform, Testbed Helsinki, offers authentic testing environments for innovations in health and wellbeing. Together with companies and RDI actors, solutions to global challenges are being developed. Radical Health Festival is an important part of the City of Helsinki’s development work in the social and healthcare sector.

— Healthcare is a vast puzzle that can only be solved through collaboration. As the main partner of this international health innovation event, we are radically advancing healthcare. Helsinki is a pioneer in the development and utilization of digital health services and health technology. Radical Health Festival Helsinki strengthens Helsinki’s position as an excellent environment for testing and developing health innovations, summarizes Sanna Hartman, Senior Advisor in health Testbeds at Business Helsinki.
