Open calls

You can find information on open and closed calls as well as innovation competitions on this page. The open calls are related to the main themes of our test platform activities – EdTech, Smart Mobility, Built Environment, Circular Economy, Health & Wellbeing – as well as to their enabling technologies. Open calls are coordinated by the Innovation Services of the City of Helsinki Economic Development department. You can also propose your own test idea to us by filling out the test proposal form.

A city as a test platform?

Companies and RDI actors can also reach out directly to the City of Helsinki to recommend their own solution for testing. We review proposals on a regular basis and aim to respond to them as soon as possible. The proposals are treated with confidentiality.

Mobility Lab Helsinki is looking for new ways to produce three-dimensional data describing the street environment

The goal of the open call is to produce a 3D surface model of the street environment that it is significantly more detailed than Helsinki’s current two-dimensional materials. The surfaces are to be segmented by mode of transport to allow the study of their respective traffic environments. Offer your solution by March 6.

Helsinki seeks new sustainable urban solutions for business incubator

Urban Tech Helsinki is a business incubator that supports innovative and growth-oriented companies that focus on solving the challenges of modern cities. The main objective of the incubator is to seek clean and sustainable urban solutions. The operations are focused on clean energy, mobility, sustainable construction and urban development, the circular economy, urban food production and wellbeing.

Looking for digital interpretation solutions for Family and Social Services

The City of Helsinki is inviting companies to develop digital interpretation solutions together with the professionals and clients of the City’s Social Services and Health Care Division. Companies can participate in this innovation challenge by submitting a tender by 26 October.
