Continuous Open Call for Pilots in the Urban Wellbeing Lab Project
Does your company develop solutions that support physical activity and wellbeing in the urban environment? Submit a proposal for a pilot using the form below!

In the Urban Wellbeing Lab project, pilots are carried out in different districts of Helsinki to develop innovative solutions that promote wellbeing and physical activity.
The project includes two more precisely defined pilot programmes in Postipuisto and Keski-Pasila, with themes co-created together with local stakeholders. In addition to the pilots included in these programmes, companies may propose a thematically relevant pilot at any point during the project. The location and schedule of these pilots are agreed jointly between the company and the project.
Through the pilots, the project offers companies support from experts across the city divisions, the opportunity to develop their wellbeing innovations in a real-life environment, and a valuable reference.
Companies participating in the open call for pilots do not need to represent traditional health or wellbeing technology sectors. They may, for example, develop solutions such as:
- Innovations that encourage physical activity
- Smart technologies for monitoring physical activity as well as key wellbeing indicators
- Temporary or modular urban environment solutions for developing residential areas
- Digital, experimential or gamified solutions
- Innovations that support community-building and enhance safety or comfort
Proposals are reviewed on a monthly basis, and companies that submit an application will be contacted if the experts of the Urban Wellbeing Lab project assess the proposal as suitable for the project. The evaluation considers, among other things, feasibility, innovativeness, and potential impact.
Approved pilots are carried out in collaboration with our project partner, Forum Virium Helsinki. The project is co‑funded by the European Union. Read more about the Urban Wellbeing Lab project.
