Artificial intelligence and cutting-edge technology to boost SMEs

The challenges of exploiting cutting-edge technology affect all companies. Still, they are more pronounced in companies with fewer than 100 employees. These companies are often in the early stages of utilising AI on a daily basis. The Finnish AI Region (FAIR) innovation hub in the Metropolitan Area sets out to solve these challenges.

Story Creator inspired Helsinki learners to tell creative stories

The South Korean company Sam Corporation was the first foreign company to test and develop its solution on our development and testing platform with pupils from Helsinki’s schools. With the pilot, Sam Corporation also established a company in Finland and is competing for a place in the incubator programme.

Circular economy extends to residents’ everyday life on new Jätkäsaari block

An entire city block is planned and designed on the terms of circular economy in Helsinki. The plan is to also have circular economy as part of the everyday life of the future residents of the communal block of Jätkäsaari. The block is being developed by two members of Helsinki’s cluster programme for circular economy, Spolia Design and the Yrjö and Hanna Foundation.

Borrowable activity monitoring – Fibion is bringing its tracking devices to libraries

Together with library services and the activity measurement development company Fibion, the Economic Development Division of the City of Helsinki has launched an experiment that involves testing the borrowing of activity trackers at two libraries in Helsinki. The tracking devices are available for borrowing until the end of October.

AR foxes inspire creation of sustainable future

We are all building a future, the AR foxes remind us. flyAR Augmented Reality Studio brought the fox friends of Helsinki’s early childhood education and care (ECEC) to life through augmented reality. Now, even the youngest learners can see and experience AR content.

Companies and RDI actors can recommend their own solution to the City of Helsinki for testing. We review proposals on a regular basis and aim to respond to them as soon as possible. The proposals are treated with confidentiality.
